dream with strategy

Happy New Year everyone! I can’t express how glad I am to have you reading this right now. This blog, this website, this shop, all of it was just a dream I've had for years. I heard a quote on TV last year that really got me moving. The guy said, “A dream without a strategy is just an infatuation.” Ain't that deep?! Geesh.

With that, I started strategizing.

I had something else on my mind that I really wanted to blog about today, but the Holy Spirit is leading me down this path of encouragement to start off this brand spanking new year. A fresh start. A new decade. And sometimes, we just need a little encouragement to get up, get motivated and continue moving toward our destiny.

I believe God when he says that he has plans for each and every one of us. He never said it would be easy and without hurt or pain, but it’s a plan of good and hope.

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

Over the last several months, I’ve been documenting some encouraging scriptures and quotes that have kept me motivated. (I’ve jotted down most of the authors of the quotes, but unfortunately have forgotten some.) Hopefully some of these words will inspire you as much as they do me. Here’s to 2020 y’all!

“No matter what happens, no one can. Take away your education.”

“You can have it all. You just can’t have it all at the same time.”

“There no stopping a woman who knows her worth and wants to change the world.”

“We’re under the impression that everyone who is accomplished asked for it; when in fact they just took a risk.”

“Nobody’s gone pay you, like you gone pay you.”

“Sometimes you’ve got to let everything go – purge yourself. If you are unhappy with anything… whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you’ll find that when you’re free, your true creativity, your true self comes out.” – Tina Turner

“We teach our girls to be perfect. We teach our boys to be brave.”

“You don’t have to wait for tragedy to initiate positive change.”

“Respect first. Friendship will follow.”

“Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” Luke 6:38

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

“I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs.” – Frederick Douglass

“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27

“Meet your fears with faith.” — Max Lucado

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” — Martin Luther King Jr.

“Afflictions are but the shadows of God’s wings.” — George MacDonald

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

“We often can't see what God is doing in our lives, but God sees the whole picture and His plan for us clearly.” ― Tony Dungy

“God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.” — Max Lucado

“I’ve read the last page of the Bible. It’s all going to turn out all right.” —Billy Graham

“When you understand that life is a test, you realize that nothing is insignificant in your life.” – Rick Warren

“What you’re thinking is what you’re becoming.” – Muhammad Ali

“Instead of looking at the past, I put myself ahead twenty years and try to look at what I need to do now in order to get there then.” – Diana Ross
